First day

Today was interesting. I don't quite have culture shock, but it is very different from what we are used to. We rode a small  purple airplane to Mae Sat. Turbulence was dreadful, but I slept through most of it. Oh!  And the dogs. There were stray dogs everywhere! A few cats and lizards were around as well. Also, there was a little bit of miscommunication at the place where we got pad thai. (Wayyy better here then in the US). I'm so happy that I learned how to eat with chopsticks before coming here. Anyways, we wanted a woman to take a picture OF us,  but she thought we wanted her IN the picture. Very charming lady though spite the Thai -English barrier. We got rained out after watching a soccer game, I was the only one to bring a raincoat and I'm happy I did. Time to go to bed, after Caiden gets out of it.  My corner on the cot is the only place with Wi-Fi.

Were in Los Angeles!

I have absolutely no complaints about LA. It is amazing and I was outside briefly. Oh so warm! I love it here a lot. Wish I could stay but I'm a girl on a mission to Thailand!  Almost half way there.

Pandarama!

There will be more to come, But this is the panda that will be adventuring with me throughout Thailand.

Goodbye house, hello hut

I think the airplane were about to go on is a good symbol. We have to take a step back in order to go forwards.  It relates to the plane because in order to get to Los Angeles, we must first step back to Minneapolis. Although I have a fear of planes,  I'm willing to take the leap of faith and try it anyways and hope that nothing goes wrong. The 'power of positive thinking' is on my side, and so is 'mind over matter'. I'm bringing my stuffed panda bear everywhere. Not only for security.  But for a photo shoot! Every milestone and cool place we visit I'll bring him with and snap a picture with a beautiful view over his shoulder. I'm ready to go. I'm all packed,  I cleaned the house, I sprayed my clothes with heavy duty bug spray, I did everything I needed to do. It's time to say goodbye to my house and say hello to hut that I will be staying in, the yoga mat I'll be sleeping on, and to the amazing people I'll be sticking around with!

Excitement

We are soon to be off on our adventure! I can almost taste the excitement. I'm completely packed after spending the day doing so yesterday, I can't wait to go. But I'm nervous of course, and a little scared. I don't know What to expect when I get over there. Will the villagers be friendly? Nice? I hope so. They're probably just as excited as I am. I can't wait to play all the fun ice breaker games I found. Hopefully that will get us introduced a bit better. We leave for the plane at six on Monday, which means I have to wake up at five. Who would have thought anyone had to get up that early on a Monday? Especially in the summer. Oh well, I'm used to it.  I probably won't sleep much anyways with how excited I'll be. Planes scare me a little though, with all the turbulence and what not. But once were up in the air a few times I'll be a natural on the way back home.

First day blogging

Well, today is my first day blogging and I already have it figured out. Were leaving for Thailand in 9 days. Boy, how time flies! We got the camera, bug spray, among other things. I still need new Capri pants because were not allowed to show our knees. I have plenty of tee shirts though, no problem there. Can't wait to go. The excitement is in the air!
